Newly Remodled Home Catches Fire

Sacramento, CA- At 8:43am, Metro Fire crews responded to 2828 Norcade Circle for a report of a residential fire. Crews on scene found fire in the B unit of a newly remodeled 4-plex. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the fire, containing it to the first floor in the unit of origin.  Residents were evacuated from all four units, though no other units sustained damage. Firefighters rescued a young resident’s pet turtle, Godzilla, from the smoke and reunited him with his owner, unharmed. No injuries were reported and an estimated $300,000 in property was saved.

The cause of the fire appears to have been electrical in nature.  Protect your family and your home: When doing any electrical repairs, proper installation and service are critical.
