Exterior Fire Sparks Second Alarm Fire at Two Arden Residences

Sacramento County, CA – Shortly before midnight Metro Fire, with assistance from Sacramento Fire Department resources, was dispatched to a report of a residential structure fire on Neptune Way in the Sacramento Community of Arden. Initial arriving units reported heavy fire between two structures spreading into each and a second alarm was requested and dispatched.

Both homes suffered extensive damage and the occupants have been displaced along with a cat and dog that were rescued from the residences unharmed. A Metro Fire Firefighter/Paramedic incurred minor injuries while suppressing the fire and was receiving treatment. Over 54 firefighting personnel were dispatched to the incident.

Investigators are on scene investigating the cause of the fire which began between the two affected homes. Occupants heard the sounds of fire outside their home and evacuated promptly. No occupants of the residences were injured, but a combined seven occupants will be assisted by the American Red Cross with temporary housing and shelter.
