For kids ages 11-13

FIRE CAMP is a local 4-day - day camp, dedicated to teaching middle school age kids what it's like to be a firefighter for the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. FIRE CAMP is a great opportunity for our firefighters to help kids build a sense of teamwork and responsibility. We only accept applications from children that are 11, 12 or 13 years of age.

As Camp begins, kids are grouped into “strike teams” of 8 campers, mentored and supervised by 2 professional firefighters. As the week progresses, the teams take on a character of their own as they learn about the job of a firefighter and experience such activities as: putting out a flammable liquid fire with a fire extinguisher, climbing a 105’ aerial ladder truck, developing the traditional skills of a bucket brigade and hand pumper crew, and learning life skills such as Hands Only CPR.

FIRE CAMP takes place at Fire Station 21, located at 7641 Greenback Lane, Citrus Heights, 95610, near Sunrise Mall. In order for any child to attend camp they will have to rely on you or another adult for daily transportation.

Hours for FIRE CAMP are as follows:
Tuesday - Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M.
Thursday - Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. Friday end time is flexible
