- As the Sacramento region continues to manage an active fire season, the California Office of Emergency Services in coordination with Cal Fire issued a Fuels and Fire Behavior Advisory. In response to the advisory and local conditions, effective immediately, the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District is suspending issuance of Model Rocket permits and Burn Permits for recreational burns and bonfires. This suspension will remain in effect until the end of fire season is declared. This suspension includes all areas in Sacramento County where the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District is the Fire Code Official including portions of unincorporated Sacramento County, the City of Rancho Cordova, and the City of Citrus Heights.
